Weather
India has a diverse climate, with hot and humid conditions in many areas, especially during the summer when temperatures often exceed 35°C. The monsoon season brings heavy, brief rains, while northern regions can be cooler, especially in winter. Be ready for varied weather depending on where and when you visit.
Currency
The Indian Rupee (INR) is used throughout India. Credit cards are widely accepted in many places, but it’s a good idea to carry some cash for small transactions and in areas where card payments may not be accepted.
Language
English is widely spoken in India and is one of the official languages, so you'll find it easy to communicate with many locals. However, India is a multilingual country with numerous languages spoken across regions. In addition to English, you may encounter languages such as Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, and many others, depending on the area you visit.
Time Zone
India Standard Time (IST) is 5 hours and 30 minutes ahead of Coordinated Universal Time (UTC+5:30). India does not observe Daylight Saving Time, so the time difference remains consistent throughout the year.
Plugs
India uses the Type C, Type D, and Type M electrical plugs. The standard electrical current is 230 volts AC (50 Hz).
